There are 2 ways to become involved in racehorse ownership.

1. An outright purchase: This can be either from one of the many yearling or 2 yo sales (see our list of upcoming events) or it can be fun searching for one at any of the stud farms.

2. Leasing: This is where a breeder wishes to retain a filly for stud purposes after the completion of her racing career. The filly is then available on a lease arrangement to a lessee/owner. The lessee/owner pays no purchase price, but is responsible for the training fees and has to pay the lessor/breeder a negotiated percentage of winning stakes. This is a good way to feel your way into ownership.
